Validation of Acquired Experience (VAE)

Validation of Acquired Experience (VAE) is an individual right enshrined in the Labour Code.

It allows anyone engaged in professional life to have their skills, acquired and developed through professional or volunteer work, officially recognized by a professional qualification or diploma. The VAE (Validation of Acquired Experience) program at Brest Business School is aimed at both working individuals and companies wishing to develop their teams.

Our VAE results

Since 2016, we have supported 29 cases.

At Brest Business School, 50% of candidates who fully commit to the VAE obtain partial validation, which leads to total validation of 100% within two years, following the recommendations of the jury.

Who can apply for VAE?

Any person can be a candidate for VAE (Art L6111-1 of the amended labor code), in reference to the legal provisions (Law 2022-1598 of December 21, 2022) (Law No. 2016-1088 of August 8, 2016 relating to work, the modernization of social dialogue and the securing of professional pathways).

What qualifications are available?

All BBS continuing education programs are accessible through the Validation of Acquired Experience (VAE) process, allowing participants to obtain a degree at the Bachelor's (Bac+3) or Master's (Bac+5) level, a professional title, or a certificate. Executive Bachelor, Executive Master Grande Ecole, Specialized Master's®… The offerings are designed for all profiles of executives, managers, and entrepreneurs across all business management roles.

Funding for employees and job seekers

Personal Training Account (CPF): Since January 1, 2019, training hours accrued are converted into euros at a rate of €15 per hour, and the account is credited with an annual allowance of €500 for full-time employees and €800 for unskilled workers. The maximum amount in the CPF is €5000 after 10 years, or €8000 for unskilled workers.

Funding for self-employed workers

Check with your Training Insurance Fund (FAF), FIFPL (Interprofessional Training Fund for Liberal Professionals) or AGEFICE (Training Insurance Fund for Commerce, Industry and Services).

Deadlines for submission

The time between the start of writing the VAE file and the holding of the jury varies between 5 and 13 months.

This performance requires a significant personal investment over the period, both in terms of availability and in the ability to concentrate and reflect.

The commitment must remain constant, on a job that is often done in parallel with a professional activity.

Less than 6 months: 10%
Between 6 and 12 months: 75%
More than 12 months: 25%

Access times

Once contact is made, you will be called back within 48 hours to arrange a telephone appointment.

Service start

The VAE service can start after the validation of the different stages: acceptance of the quote with regard to your program, positive opinion of the admissibility committee on your file, and signing of the training agreement.
